Cells tetragonal, flat or pyramidal with concave sides. Cells with angles slightly formed between short lobes with fairly long, slightly curved spine at the ends. Cells 15-20 μm in diameter and spines 7-8 μm in length. Biology: Freshwater alga prefers oligo-mesotrophic water bodies.
